Alumna Emily McMartin ‘18 took over secretary Missy Gravunder’s position on Feb. 8. McMartin had previously been doing hair for her own business, Innovations Hair Studio.
“I decided to take this position because they offer a steady work schedule, a stable income and benefits! Whether you believe it or not, they are very important later on in life,” McMartin said.
With this change in career path for McMartin, she will try her best to continue doing hair in her spare time.
“I will try my best to continue doing hair as much as possible, but my hours will be extremely limited,” McMartin said.
With Gravunder leaving, there will be some changes between her position and the student services office position held by Sarah Judas.
“My responsibilities will be changing. A lot of my job will be the same, but I will be doing more with grades and scheduling. I will no longer be the attendance secretary, that will move to Miss McMartin,” Judas said.
Judas is hopeful about McMartin’s success in her new position.
“I think Miss McMartin will do great! I think she has many qualities that will make her very successful here and she will be a great asset to our staff,” Judas said.
This change happened quickly and students can expect to see McMartin in the office now.
“I started in the office on Feb. 8. I am very excited about the new change,” McMartin said.
