Student Council hosts yearly Halloween Costume Contest
On October 23 at 7:35 a.m., the fire alarm was pulled because of the appearance of smoke in the middle school. We know now that there was not an actual fire, and it was the cause of an overheated motor inside a heating unit. “I should’ve just turned around and gone back home, but I wanted to see if there was an actual fire,” freshman Haley Hitz said.
Students, staff remain calm during fire evacuation
Students head home after school through the newly opened gate. “Students will be able to exit the lot quicker with two exits versus one. Hopefully, there is a shorter line to leave and fewer cars blocking parents from entering our pick-up lot, ” Principal Bryant Bednarek said.

Varsity volleyball team ended their season with a conference record of 3-4. "We had really great leadership with our senior class not just on our squad but as role models for the other grades, and they did very well connecting with their younger teams," Reiser said.

The team runs through offense near the end of practice. The girls' work has really focused on togetherness as they prepared for their first game. “Our coach is very positive and has high expectations for us. Over the summer we worked on more individual skills, practices are now focused on team game and plays,” guard Becca Bartol said.
Hacker returns to berlin, new conference, new season for girls basketball
Musical Director Abbe Lane spent many rehearsals focusing on learning the music with piano before incorporating dances. “I like the funny practices when we’re kind of just goofing around and getting our songs memorized,” junior Abby Shattuck said.
Musical generates skills across community

Girls swim team reflects on season progress
Blake and Madison Mertens have been running the farm for 11 seasons. What started as a small hobby has quickly grown into a community favorite. “At just six years old, Blake wanted to try growing his own pumpkins. We started pretty small that first year, selling the pumpkins that grew from a roadside stand. Blake and Madison wanted to keep growing pumpkins, and each year have continued to increase the number of pumpkins we grow,” Kristen Mertens said.
