Thomas McCarthy, Editor-in-chief

Thomas McCarthy is a Berlin High School senior. He is The Red ‘n’ Green Editor-in-Chief. He is part of the cross country, basketball, and track & field teams, and is a competitive athlete who always looks forward to practicing and competing. McCarthy is also the president of the Finance Club and a member of the Academic Decathlon. He hopes to pursue a career in business, and to improve his photography skills in journalism.

Pumpkins sit on stands priced based on size. However, the biggest gains are in the human connections. “I love the time we get as a family, including picking out the different varieties we will plant, planting in the fields all together, going out to the patch over the summer months to see the growth, working in the fields to pick the pumpkins, and interacting with the community when they come out to the farm,” Kristen Mertens said.

The varsity girls team and coaches won and became conference champions this past Thursday, Oct. 16, at Wisconsin Dells. The team moves on to sectionals and hopes to keep their win streak. “It’s just been a really good season, especially for our girls team. We also have a lot of seniors, so it’s going to be really sad to see them all go. Overall though, it’s been a really great season,” Abby Shattuck said.
