Power outage across Berlin

The power in Berlin high school and across Berlin went out for approximately an hour and twenty minutes at 10:40 a.m. on Jan. 10.

“A transmission line was hit on Highway 49,” Director of Operations Josh Youngbauer said. “Nothing at the school was damaged.”

Due of the power outage, there will be a schedule change to allow the lunch staff time to make lunch. This schedule change has been sent to every students email from Principal Bryant Bednarek. If a power outage were to happen again, there is a generator that would restore power to the school.

“We can run the generator for days,” Youngbauer said. “We just have to fill it up with fuel. We have extra fuel here just in case.”

Despite the power outage, school will continue for the day with the altered schedule.
