Musical Director Abbe Lane spent many rehearsals focusing on learning the music with piano before incorporating dances. “I like the funny practices when we’re kind of just goofing around and getting our songs memorized,” junior Abby Shattuck said.

The Haunted Tannery is not open this year. The items in the storage room were used as props and costumes. “We have a lot of stuff that we can afford to sell and still have materials left over for wanted houses if we just started it back up,” Hoppa said.

Blake and Madison Mertens have been running the farm for 11 seasons. What started as a small hobby has quickly grown into a community favorite. “At just six years old, Blake wanted to try growing his own pumpkins. We started pretty small that first year, selling the pumpkins that grew from a roadside stand. Blake and Madison wanted to keep growing pumpkins, and each year have continued to increase the number of pumpkins we grow,” Kristen Mertens said.
