A couple of weeks ago Triangle Family Restaurant opened up at 215 Ripon Road, Berlin, WI 54923, replacing the shut down Las Brasas Mexican Restaurant. Before opening Triangle, the new owners did a lot of renovations to the building, giving the space a new and different feel.
When pulling up to the building the outside looks the same as it did with the previous owners, the exterior a light sand color. But, walking in it looks very different than before. Before there was a wall that separated the bar area from the restaurant area, with the register right in the middle when patrons walked in. Now a big piece of that wall is gone, opening up and transforming the two rooms into one spacious area. They continued their remodeling by putting in new floors, tables, chairs, painting the walls, and adding decor.
The waitress was super nice and seemed well trained, taking the drink orders really fast along with delivering them. One negative thing about Triangle is the design of the menu. The menu is only one page with the bulk of their choices on the back. When looking at the back all the different dishes and their individual add-ons are shown making the menu look crowded and hard to read. A positive was that they have all-day breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so people are able to get crepes at 4 p.m if they choose.
After ordering it came as a pleasant surprise that our food’s wait time was very minimal, taking roughly 15 minutes. After receiving our food it was impressive. The stuffed crepes with Nutella and strawberries were delicious. The cream inside the crepe added something great to the dish, forming a balance, and making sure it didn’t become too sweet. One thing that could have been different was the strawberries that were added on. They are like the pie-filling version of strawberries, it would have been better with fresh strawberries. It would have taken the dish to the next level. There was also a side of perfect sausage links; tasting the same as other restaurants. Then a strawberry lemonade to complete the meal.
Overall, Triangle Family Restaurant is a very good addition to Berlin, and hope it stays for a long time. The food was wonderful and cooked perfectly. The new Triangle Family Restaurant is highly recommended for you to try, and deserves a rating of 4.5/5.
