From the beginning, with the first album “Three Days Grace” in 2003, any listener can tell that the music from the band Three Days Grace has a deep meaning that people can relate to. The song “I Hate Everything About You” catapulted the band’s career and left fans wanting more. Now, 22 years later, the original singer, Adam Gontier, is back and has released a new album, which has really made the band blow up again. This led to their new “Alienation Tour”, and it was nothing short of amazing.
The music’s upbringing is what makes this tour so good. The band is showcasing their new music while also performing all their old songs, too, and really giving all the fans the best show possible. The opening act of the show was their song “Dominate.” For fans who know the band, this song is about all their growth through mental health and how they have overcome the doubt that people put on them. This was a great way to start the show because it got the fans going and gave everyone a sense of what the vibe of the show actually was.
What makes this tour so unique is that the band puts so much work into making their show sets customized to them. Unlike a lot of other rock bands that just run around or bang their heads, the members really bring light and fun to their show. One of the sets was decorated as a starry night around a bonfire, where there was an actual fire on the stage. This was meant to show fans how the band originated by just playing music in their backyard, and it made fans understand the band members and who they are, alongside feeling the emotions of the music. The band had shown their uniqueness when their singer, Matt Walst, mixed one of his songs from his old band “My Darkest Days,” with one of the new songs from Three Days Grace’s album “Alienation.”

The instrumentals in the background were perfectly timed for every song. The drums, guitar, and bass all come together great, especially when it comes to the more intense points of the music. The buildup of the music brings so much understanding and love to the band, and creates that moment where all fans can’t sit still and are ready to see what the band will do next. The band’s performance of their song “Apologies” really displayed all these factors, making it one of the fan favorites of the tour.
One thing critique about the concert would have been to enhance the tour by playing their songs in the order of the albums. They played the music kind of all over the place, so the placement of the songs in order would’ve really opened up the vibe of the show, especially when the band was trying to showcase to the fans the very beginning of their career and how they ended up where they are today. This theme was clear in the show, but with better song placement, the tour would’ve been even better.
Overall, the tour as a whole is simply the best concert fans have seen from Three Days Grace, and they can’t wait to see what the band has coming up next.
