Winners announced for sixth annual Graphic Short Story Contest

The Wordsmiths of Berlin just concluded their sixth annual Graphic Short Story Contest. Below are all the contest entries. First place goes to senior Violet Daubner, second place goes to senior Isabel Sippel.

The cast of “The Lightning Thief” rehearse their song “The Campfire Song.” The musical will run Nov. 14-16 at 7 p.m. “Rehearsals have been progressing so wonderfully,” senior Aleea Lichtenberg said. “This is the most prepared BHS has ever been for a show.”

BASD is having a referendum vote on Nov. 5 to determine whether or not the schools will get more funding through taxes.

On Sep. 27 the construction for the new playground was finished. On Oct. 1 the Berlin Area School District opened the playground for the kids and public to use. “The playground is open to the public so anyone can use it as long as it's not getting mistreated,” superintendent Dr. Emmett Durchi said.

The football team played in the playoffs in Mayville on Friday Nov. 1, losing 28-26.
