Building Trades class builds new mezzanines in the auditorium
The cast of “The Lightning Thief” rehearse their song “The Campfire Song.” The musical will run Nov. 14-16 at 7 p.m. “Rehearsals have been progressing so wonderfully,” senior Aleea Lichtenberg said. “This is the most prepared BHS has ever been for a show.”

BASD is having a referendum vote on Nov. 5 to determine whether or not the schools will get more funding through taxes.
BASD makes second attempt at referendum
On Sep. 27 the construction for the new playground was finished. On Oct. 1 the Berlin Area School District opened the playground for the kids and public to use. “The playground is open to the public so anyone can use it as long as it's not getting mistreated,” superintendent Dr. Emmett Durchi said.
Berlin gets a new Playground
Consumer Math, taught by math teacher Angie Clark, planted a tree in Riverside Park on Sept 25. “It was a gorgeous day and watching the trees grow can serve as a reminder for us to keep giving and to remind us that even a small amount of giving can make a big difference in our community,” Clark said.

There are two new foreign exchange students this year, Charlotte Ars (left) from Belgium and Lisa Vizzari from Italy. They have both joined the girls' swim team. “I’m so happy to be here, I hope it’s going to be a great year and I hope I can enjoy the most out of it,” Vizzari said.

The seniors celebrated their senior night on Oct. 15, the same night they had their pink out game. The seniors made posters showcasing their whole volleyball career ever since they started playing. “This team has become like family to me and I am beyond grateful to have their support,” senior Samantha Bartels said.

All of them are at the ECC meet in Ripon holding the conference winners plaque. “Next Friday the 25th we will go to Waupaca for sectionals,” Shattuck said. “There will be 15 teams there and the top two will go to the state meet. I am very excited and feel like we have a chance to go to state as a team.”
