The boys placed third at their Small School State meet with ShoreWood on Jan. 27.
“I think the team has been performing well considering how many people we have,” sophomore Blake Mertens said.
Some setbacks that the swim team shares are not having enough people which makes it more difficult for the swim team to gain points.
“I swam the 500 Free (5.43.34), I swam 200 medley relay (2.03.43), 200 free relay (1.50.72), and 400 relay (4.13.33),” Mertens said.
Another setback the team faces is injuries.
“I hadn’t swum for a week, but in the meet I swam in the 200 medley relay, 100 back, 200 freestyle relay, and the 400 relay,” junior Aidan Pierstorff said.
The boys next meet is the WIIA Diving Sectional on Friday.
