Autumn Nikolai is a Berlin High School Senior. She is excited to spend her last year of high school on the Red ‘n’ Green staff. Publications is her favorite class because she gets to meet new people during interviews.

Jacob Jumbeck started as a student teacher and now is a substitute teacher for BHS. Jumbeck coached the JV2 basketball team. “Mr. Jumbeck has a great head on his shoulders. He will have a great career in education and coaching if it is the pass he decides to ultimately take,” Coach Joe Stellmacher said.

There is now a microwave in the commons for high schools to use during lunch time. Student Council member Braden Berndt taking his turn to clean the microwave. “I am thrilled that we were able to make a change. Although it may be small, it came from a group of people that wanted to make something happen! Through votes and discussion we made this possible and I am so happy that we made a positive change for our school,” Co-president of Student Council Aleea Lichtenberg said.

Seniors Charlotte Ars and Lisa Vizzari are foreign exchange students, Ars is from Belgium and Vizzari is from Italy. They are taking a year of school in America. Ars and Vizzari were walking in the snow on the golf course enjoying the cold weather. “I am going to make the most of my summer and spend my time with friends and family. I also need to study because in September I'll start my senior year of high school in Italy and I have exams on the subjects they did this year,” Vizzari said.

On Sep. 27 the construction for the new playground was finished. On Oct. 1 the Berlin Area School District opened the playground for the kids and public to use. “The playground is open to the public so anyone can use it as long as it's not getting mistreated,” superintendent Dr. Emmett Durchi said.
