On Sep. 27 the construction for the new playground was finished. On Oct. 1 the Berlin Area School District opened the playground for the kids and public to use. “The playground is open to the public so anyone can use it as long as it's not getting mistreated,” superintendent Dr. Emmett Durchi said.

The Red 'n' Green staff won the blue ribbon for their news website at the NEWSPA (Northeast Wisconsin Scholastic Press Association) conference at UW Oshkosh April 11. The Red 'n' Green has won 11 blue ribbons out of the last 13 years. The Red 'n' Green has been attending NEWSPA since at least 1976. Berlin is one of the founding schools of the NEWSPA organization.
