The “Speech Banana” shows where a person’s hearing falls. Most people land on the upper sides of the banana while senior Lauren Batley falls in the curve, unable to hear specific sounds. Batley has a condition called reverse-lobe bilateral hearing loss. “The speech banana is where the English language falls and my hearing isn’t up top where everyone else’s is, it’s down within that speech banana,” Batley said.

The protest occurred on Thursday, Nov. 4 at around 9:30 am. “I want a place where people dont have to be afraid to go to the bathroom, or walk in the halls, or express themselves for who they truly are. The Studio A Dance Academy mini team and senior team each received medals after the senior team placed first with their lyrical dance, “Still,” and fifth place with their jazz dance, “Everything that I’ve Got.” The mini team jazz danced to, “California Girls,” receiving third place and their lyrical dance, “Smile,” receiving second place. “Our team did a good job staying in sync and using facials,” sophomore Emilee Wegner said.
